IPL2025|Nehal, Shashank half century:Punjab win by 10 runs against Rajasthan,

Jaipur: With the skill of left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar, the Punjab Kings team came close to the play-off stage of the IPL tournament.

Brar (3 for 22)'s effective attack helped Punjab win by 10 runs against Rajasthan Royals in the match here on Sunday. Second in the points table.

After winning the toss and electing to bat at the Sawai Manasingh Stadium, the Kings scored 219 for 7 in 20 overs. Lam Lam (70; 372, 4x5, 6x5) and Shashank Singh (unbeaten 59; 302, 4x5, 6x3) led the team to big totals.

Chasing the target, Rajasthan scored 209 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. The team's opening batsman Yashshwi jaiswal (50; 252, 4x9, 6x1) Druv jorel (53; 312, 4X3, 6X4) both failed to win.

Brar's performance: Brar, who came on as a substitute for Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, returned with man-of-the-match honours. Shreyas rested as he injured his finger.

Brar took the wickets of Rajasthan's opening batsman, 1 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi (40; 152, 4x4, 6x4), and middle-order batsman Ryan Parag. Successful in the first wicket partnership and Vaibhav added 76 runs in just 29 balls. Brar bowled the fifth over and was caught by Xavier Bartlett when Vaibhav misjudged the turn of the delivery.

Brar managed to turn the match in his second spell. He put an end to the successful game that was batting brilliantly. After a successful wicket with a half-century, he clean bowled Parag in the next over.

In spite of this, Dhruva Jurel, who was struggling, kept the hope of victory alive. But in the last over, left-arm speedster Marco Jansen bowled a catch to Mitchell Owen.

Nehal, Shashank game

Opting to bat, the Punjab team did not get off to a good start. Tushar Deshpande (2 for 37) made an early exit for the top-order batsmen thanks to his accurate attack. Due to this, the total of the team was 34 runs and 3 wickets fell. Due to this, the team was on the verge of collapsing. Nehal and skipper Shreyas (30; 25A, 4x5) revived the innings on this occasion. He added 67 (44A) runs in the 4th wicket partnership. Shreyas wicket was broken by Ryan Parag.

Along with Nehal, Shashank's pace bowlers got used to it. Together they scored 58 runs in 33 balls.

There were four overs left in the innings when Nehal was dismissed by Akash Madhwal. Shashank was joined by Affan player Ajjatullah Omarza (21 not out, 9A) and the two started their game. Both scored 60 runs.
