In the match held at the Wankhede Stadium here, the Risers lost the toss and were given the opportunity to bat first.

Chasing this target, Mumbai lost 6 wickets and came close to victory. By this, they won by 4 wickets.

Mumbai prevailed against th batters

Mumbai Indians registered a four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2025 Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket tournament on Thursday.

Batting first, Sunrisers could only score 162 runs for the loss of five wickets. Abhishek Sharma scored 40, Travis Head scored 28 and
 Heinrich Klaasen scored 37 runs.

Chasing this target, Mumbai reached the target in 18.1 overs for the loss of six wickets. Will Jacks, who performed an all-round game, took two wickets and scored 36 runs in a useful innings and deservedly won the man of the match award.

Ryan Rickelton (31), Rohit Sharma (26), Suryakumar Yadav (26), skipper Hardik Pandya (21) and Thilak Verma (21*) made useful contributions. Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins took three wickets.

Mumbai's bowlers succeeded in restricting the Hyderabad team to a modest total. As a result, SRH explosive batsmen Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen could not do much on the slow pitch.

Bumrah scored 21 runs in four overs and took one wicket. Will Jacks took two wickets for 14 and Trent Boult took one wicket for 29.

After that, Mumbai got the upper hand after facing the SRH bowlers efficiently.

With this win, Mumbai have registered their third win in seven matches and are seventh with six points. Kolkata Knight Riders have the same number of points but have maintained a better run rate than Mumbai and are at the sixth position.

On the other hand, SRH, who have suffered their fifth defeat in seven matches, are at the ninth position with four points.

Mumbai, who are at the top of the list of teams with the highest number of chase wins at a single ground, have further improved their record.

With this win, Mumbai registered their 47th run chase win at the Wankhede ground. Second-placed KKR had 28 wins in the chase at the Eden Gardens ground.In this edition of IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad have suffered their third consecutive defeat in away matches. Earlier they also lost against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam and Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata.
