Lucknow: Kannadiga K.L. Rahul's impressive half-century and speedster Mukesh Kumar's effective attack helped Delhi Capitals win against the hosts Lucknow Supergiants.


Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field in the IPL match at the Ekna Stadium on Tuesday. Aidan Markram (52; 332, 4x2, 6x3) 2 (45; 362, 4X3, 6X1) gave a good start. His play helped the team score 87 runs in 10 overs. But Mukesh (4 for 33) made sure that the rest of the team's batsmen didn't shout at the later stage. As a result Lucknow scored 159 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
















After that Delhi Capitals scored 161 runs for 2 wickets in 17.5 overs. With this an easy win by 8 wickets.Delhi's opening batsman (51; 362, 4X5, 6X1) and Rahul (unbeaten 57; 42A, 4X3, 6X3) made the victory easy.


Skipper Akshar Patel also contributed an unbeaten 34 runs. He hit 4 sixes out of it. Karun Nair who started the innings scored 15 runs in 9 balls.Mukesh Magic: Markaram was dismissed in the last ball of the tenth over by Dummanta Chameera. With that the first wicket partnership was broken. In the next over, Marsh was clean bowled by Mukesh Kumar.


'Explosive style' batsman Nicholas Pooran scored 9 runs in 5 balls. Having scored two boundaries in that one, he was ready for another whirlwind innings. But Mitchell Starc stopped his game. Pooran tried to hit a swinging delivery from Starc and the ball hit the inside edge of the bat and hit the stumps. Pooran returned to the dugout dejected.In his other over, Mukesh managed to catch Abdul Samad (2 runs) who tried to hit it straight. Mukesh managed to clean-bowl Ayush Badoni (36; 21A, 4X6) and Rishabh Pant in the same over as they tried to increase the team's total.


But David Miller put a damper on his usual flamboyant performance. Played patiently. Scored 14 runs in 15 balls.
